I created Mikef5000.com to help myself remember trips and information forever. Since it's inception 3 years ago, I've realized others are often just as interested in reading my stories, and occasionally the information has provided helpful. The vast majority of the website is devoted to my motorcycling hobby; there are past ride reports, future ride plans, and modification/maintenance information for my current and previous motorcycles. I've also tried to include links to some interesting motorcycle website or products, that perhaps aren't easy to find otherwise. Because it's a site about me, not just motorcycling, I've included some non-motorcycle content as well; a trip report from Germany many years ago, some information about my local community block party (this information comes and goes with the season), and a section for a local bicycle club I am a member. I am updating this website only when I have relevant new information. Sometimes it's a couple times a week, other times I'll go months between updates. Any substantial updates will be highlighted on the front and center of the home page (above). Why MikeF5000? Well, it's as simple as this; it was the screen name created for me by my father many years ago in the days of dial-up internet and America Online. The screen name stuck, and I've since used it on numerous forums and websites, including several I'm still active on and several that I haven't visited in a decade. I hope you enjoy the site.
